Mission

Our mission is to conduct social and cultural events that improve rural, educational, social, and economic conditions of low-income citizens. JBead Foundation accomplishes this mission by providing a broad range of outreach programs that serve the "unmet" needs within the community.

Through our community outreach programs, the foundation increase access to information technologies for youth and underserved urban families - to important community resources, such as affordable housing, health care resources, Internet access, computer training, workforce education, counseling resources, veterans assistance, and entrepreneurship opportunity!

Community Services through our Outreach Programs

  • After School Youth Program - Assisting youth to matriculate through high school with our mentors. We specifically focus on addressing the needs of youth who are either in 9th grade or are making the transition from 8th to 9th grade.
  • Affordable Housing - Assisting low-income citizens gain access to housing resources that will stimulate, sustain and promote economic independence of the community.
  • Workforce Education - Connecting education to careers by assisting recent graduates make the transition from student to employee and helping gain access to high quality educational and career opportunities to compete in our global economy.
  • Counseling Resources - With increasing awareness of the related social, political and economic impact of mental health problems within our community, there is a greater need for us to put people in touch with professional mental health counselors.
  • Veterans Assistance - assisting post-war veterans gain access to college resources.
  • Urban Student Leader Institute (USLI) - The USLI is a unique opportunity for young people to acquire skills they need to survive in our economy. The USLI program approach is designed to enhance and encourage young urban future leader's skills and abilities across America.
  • Center for Health Services Research (CHSR) - The CHSR defines its activities in terms of four (4) primary impact areas.
    1. Promoting Health and Wellness: Building awareness, helping people manage their health challenges and making health services available and affordable for all.
    2. Expanding Opportunities: Reaching across barriers - be they based on gender, ethnicity or physical condition - to tap the talents of every person.
    3. Developing leaders through educational programs for youth and community citizens: Supporting the type of community service that gives talented individuals the experience to become future leaders.
    4. Embracing Communities: Connecting neighbors to create networks that will address the complex social and environmental challenges we all face.

    One of the greatest strengths of JBead Foundation is our ability to build strategic alliances, coalitions and affiliations with corporations, individuals, community organizations, educational and financial institutions, and businesses that support and advance our mission.
