Future Programs: The Urban Student Leader Institute (USLI). The USLI will be a unique opportunity for young people to acquire skills they need to survive in our economy. USLI programs are designed to enhance and encourage young urban future leader's skills and abilities across America and abroad. The USLI will track the market to match the need of industries in our economy and meet the demands of Corporate America. Each perspective young candidate will be asked to complete an application and write a 500-word essay for his or her reason to participate in the USLI. The essay must include: (1) your future goals; (2) acquired skills ;(3) skills you want to develop and; (4) what you would like to implement to strengthen JBead Foundation. Each perspective candidate must also ask an elder person to write a letter of support (e.g. business professional, community leader, instructor/teacher, pastor/minister, city official, etc.) on their company letterhead to ensure they are committed to your future success and endorsement of our program. USLI participants will be male and female as young as age 15 years of age. Annual workshops are designed to provide hands on skills development for young people. Updates about USLI's progress will be included in each edition of JBead FOCUS E-NEWS. JBead foundation staff is currently seeking sponsors and grant writing opportunities to fund the USLI and other future programs.
